The question that has been bugging me for the last couple of days is,
Why do some people, even when given the same direction, guidance, information, and knowledge fail to get their desired results... NO matter what?!
Back in the day, I thought they got distracted or something (which is definitely one part of it...),
But here's an interesting question,
What makes someone thrive in one thing and fail miserably at other things?
Is it possible that there is something you can easily be best in the world at? If so, how can we find it?
I believe one way (or the only way) is to become extremely self-aware.
"Success in the knowledge economy comes to those who truly know and understand themselves. And that’s a fact. Self-Awareness" cries, Gary Vee.
One must be closely aware of their strengths, values, and how they perform best.
Which means:
Getting 360 degree of awareness of oneself.
How do you do that?
Well... by routinely comparing expectations with Raw Reality.
But first you must have a very clear, vivid vision in your mind of what you want your future to look like.
Now, you can "compare" actual results with "your expectations" of it.
Do that for a few months, a year, and you will gradually come to understand your DEEPEST strengths and weaknesses.
Now we must understand that it takes far more energy to improve from incompetence to mediocrity than to improve from first rate performance to excellence." - Peter Drucker
So, you must sacrifice your incompetencies.
Steve jobs didn't write code.
First, identify your strengths and weaknesses with data,
Second, focus on getting the most our of your strengths. Figure out how to leverage them the most.
Great entrepreneurs use LEVERAGE.
Third, we must delegate what we are just "good" and "okay" at.
I’m good at accounting, financials and administrative work, but it's not my strength, so I delegated most of it. There is no point in getting amazing at it, if you can become excellence in a few key areas.
While tracking, analyzing, and comparing your performance to your chief goal,
and overall managing yourself properly, you'll get the most out of your life.
